Default Survivor/Legendary Defender Titles and GW2

A couple of thoughts. First of all would you like to see Survivor/Legendary Defender or similar titles in GW2? And should Anet add a way (even by pay) to reset your deaths so you can TRY again to get a least the survivor title? I always hate it when games added stuff i could not get when i did a small mistake or when i missed an event (URGH I WANT THE ONI MASK!!!).
I got the kind of sickness that makes you want to accomplish everything in game. I aint got the time to start a new character since sooner or later GW2 will come out and i am too bored/aint got time to do everything all over again.
What do you think?

you still have around 3 years to do it again.

I would like to see survivor come back as long as there isnt one big exp farm everyone uses like boxing.

As for paying to reset death count NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Worst idea ever! Everyone would have survivor!

It's not like its a hard title to get, it would only allow for older chars to get a chance.

Not everyone. I know people who are still QQ'ing about the name change price.

Everyone already has survivor. Between the Punchout dungeon, and the (thankfully nefed) keg farming all it really took was the ability to grind for 6-20 hours.

Personally, a pay-to-reset survivor title would rob GW of any distinctions over the crap korean f2p cash shop games.

I got my survivor back when the audio driver crash bug was still rampant, I couldn't Kilroy farm because any crash a few hours down the line would reconnect me to a dead character. In the 2 weeks it took, I created and deleted 6 survivor hopefuls, and I did tons of hero skill unlocking at that point because I needed dependable heroes for the inevitable crash to desktops that would happen.

It was frustrating, I had near heart attacks on serveral occasions, managed to recover from every failure, and I improved as a player from that experience.

Just because someone's too lame to pull it off doesn't mean the title should be devalued for the rest of us so that they can attain it.

yeah, i wish i could get survivor on my main char that is 4 years old with 35 max titles. how was i suppose to know back then that there would be a survivor title? characters with age older than when titles were implemented should be given a single chance at redemption.

I think a one-time reset, useable once for the entire account, would be nice to allow older chars to have a chance at the survivor title.

Anyway, what's your suggestion, OP? If you are suggesting pre-title character would need a second go for survivor...there are already countless thread about that.

First of all thx for the responses everyone. Secondly my suggestion is a death reset after a character gets 2years old for a second go at survivor and that we wont see stuff (titles,masks, etc) in GW2 that if you miss the event/make mistake you wont be able to get them again.

LDoA: Available only to pre-Searing characters. Achieved when you hit level 20 in pre-Searing. Post-Searing characters lose this title.

Survivor: Add an NPC to allow your Survivor title track to be removed and reset. Accumulate the necessary experience to gain the max tier.

You can't change Survivor without changing LDoA.

Oh, right. I'm fine if the do it in GW2 if they do it right off the bat and do it right.

Maybe if they made it so that only characters that are older that x number of years can pay for the death-count reset. /shrug

iirc GW2 will be more of a typical open-world MMO... I really wonder how a survivor title would work in that kind of situation. Then again, needs more dev updates! D:

1. Survivor/LDoA titles were implemented badly in GW because they were not retroactive when made.

2. You're assuming there will be a "Pre-Ascalon" type area for every race. If the world is persistent, I doubt that. I already find it offending enough that only core classes can get LDoA, otherwise the title might interest me more.

3. If titles are an integral part of GW2, and used as a cheap substitute for REAL content as in GW1, I will not buy it.

Personally, I would prefer a game to leave epeen for armor and weps. A little piece of the text under your name is a sad way for a game to get players to enjoy something out of the game. If you wanted to get a char to max level without dying, go ahead and do it, but the whole world doesnt need to look at you and your little piece of text. A good game should not need to use titles as "something to do" as there should already be plenty of quests/storyline/etc in the game.

EDIT: And frankly, grind typically follows titles (in an effort to max them to get all that epeen and benefits such as PvE-only skill effectiveness), and grind is terribad.

the HoM is account wide so you don't need it on your main,

And please don't bring an Item shop to GW-.-
